A GEM WORTH PROTECTING

The Litorale di Ugento Regional Nature Park stretches along the coast for around 1,600 hectares. It was established in 2007, yet we have been committed to protecting this precious corner of Apulia since 1976, the year we opened our camping resort.

One of its most amazing features is the variety of natural settings it has: one moment you’re surrounded by rolling sand dunes, the next you can dive from a cliff. A little further away you find marshes, with rocky hills as the backdrop.

Naturally, both flora and fauna flourish in such a varied environment: white lilies encircle the dunes, the pine forest and the Mediterranean scrub edge the beach, while further inland you can admire centuries-old olive trees in all their glory.

Seagulls, cormorants, purple and grey herons, flamingos and mallards are just some of the birds that fill our skies, while mammals, such as foxes, weasels, stone martens, badgers and hedgehogs inhabit our scrub. Being able to see them in real life, even if merely for a second, is always an indescribable experience.
